Vision in Zen is not about goals or plans — it is about seeing reality clearly, with open eyes and an open heart, from the ground of our unconditional nature.
These teachings explore different dimensions of Zen vision in practice — from Dr. Bonnici's personal calling and global mission, to the simple joys of ordinary life, the urgency of humanity's awakening, and the formal Dharma Seal of his lineage.
The personal calling, eight core values, and therapeutic methodologies that shape Dr. Bonnici's life work in Applied Zen Meditation.

Read Teaching →Sweeping what needs to be swept, caring for what needs to be cared for — the spiritual refuge of boundless intimacy in everyday life.
Read Reflection →The Dharma Seal and living vow of Shugyo Daijo Bonnici, Roshi — teaching with the sincerity of moonlight and the healing constancy of ocean waves.
Read Seal →"Living the path of awakened faith and enlightened life, I dance playfully on the true horizon beneath my feet. Teaching this 'Only Moment Body' of the liberated Ancients and the authentic Buddha seal, my heart smiles with the glow of moonlight and my eyes shine with the first light of dawn.
Quietly sitting, merging with the boundless ocean of compassion and the endless sky of bright wisdoming, my beginners heartmind is upheld, renewed and revitalized with each breath. Inside, this is just as I am. Outside, this is just as IT is."

Personal vision in Zen is not a strategic life plan — it is an expression of how the awakened practitioner inhabits each moment. Dr. Bonnici's personal vision reflects over 44 years of embodied meditation practice, teaching, and living the Way of Shugyo Daijo — continuous practice of the Great Way.
In 1996, Dr. Bonnici taught himself website coding to extend his teaching and counseling practice in Applied Meditation Psychology, Applied Meditation Therapy, and Applied Zen Core-Self Mindfulness to the global Internet community. This is how he established the public educational site of ZenDoctor.Com.
His global vision is grounded in the belief that Applied Meditation Therapy® — rooted in the oldest human science of embodied meditation — is universally accessible. It supports all religions, respects all walks of life, and offers practical tools for health, healing, and inner peace to anyone willing to practice. Today that vision reaches 21,500 monthly newsletter subscribers, 600,000 LinkedIn followers, and clients and students on every continent.
As of January 2005, Dr. Bonnici and his wife Diana relocated from California to the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. He feels blessed to have both sons and their families nearby. While enjoying and deeply appreciating the simple blessings of life with his wife, sons, daughter-in-heart, and four grandchildren, he continues to counsel and teach individuals and groups. Dr. Bonnici has been married for 54 years.
"My life is filled with simple activities, daily relationships, and ordinary moments. I blend with them like my brothers and sisters, embracing the wisdoming of their support and interdependency within my heart."
"As Mother Earth is my witness, the Deep Valley is my true home. As this Only Moment is my whole body, my lineage comes from Being-Time. Deeply rooted in the truth of suffering, I live a vital, exuberant, and simple life. Embodying boundless intimacy amidst everyday affairs and relationships, I teach the ancient Way of Zen with the sincerity of moonlight, the pristine exuberance of mountain streams, and the healing constancy of ocean waves."
